This week's AEW saw a mysterious voice run the rule over the AEW stars Dark Order is targeting.
During the segment, the mystery man was given an update on Dark Order's pursuit of the likes of Michael Nakazawa, Kenny Omega and Brandon Cutler. At the end of the segment, the mysterious voice declared that Dark Order must prove they are better than The Elite in AEW.
It's clear this angle is heading towards a big reveal after a long old while of teasing, and per a report in this week's
Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it looks like All Elite have been forced to go back to the drawing board.
Dave Meltzer
claims AEW were going to reveal Marty Scrull to be the leader of Dark Order, but after he signed his new contract with ROH that isn't going to be possible.
For the avoidance of any doubt, here's what this week's
WONstated: "Scurll had been the first choice to be the leader of the Dark Order and AEW for the 12/18 show in Corpus Christi with the heavily criticized beatdown, there was an idea for the show to end with the Scurll reveal, until ROH made Scurll such a great offer to stay."
