The Dark Order have been visibly shrinking in numbers on AEW TV, with the recent exits of Stu Grayson and Alan Angels, and the continued absence of Colt Cabana.

With regards to Cabana, ‘Boom Boom’ has only wrestled twice for AEW in 2022, whilst also wrestling the ROH Supercard of Honor pre-show in April, and according to a report from Fightful Select, Cabana was originally believed to be on the verge of exiting the company altogether.

The report states that Cabana’s contract was not set to be renewed by AEW, but ‘numerous’ talent voiced their displeasure and went to bat for the veteran star.

Cabana is said to be an extremely popular figure backstage, and news of his potential exit apparently caused ‘uproar’. Speculation suggested Cabana’s complicated relationship with CM Punk could have been a factor in any exit, but with the expiration and exit of several AEW talents, this is now not believed to be the case.

Rumours had swirled suggesting Cabana was figured into the relaunch plans for Ring of Honor, although Fightful’s report suggests that talent speaking up on behalf of Cabana happened before Supercard of Honor.
