Last week, AEW held their fourth pay-per-view, Revolution, at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. The show has been widely praised throughout the wrestling world, with particular commendation being heaped upon Chris Jericho vs. Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship and PAC vs. Orange Cassidy. The stand out match for many was Hangman Page & Kenny Omega vs. The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships, which has been talked out as the best tag team match in the history of professional wrestling.

The show was also seemingly a commercial success as Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that pay-per-view buys on B/R Live were at least 10 percent higher than Full Gear, hovering around 37,000. Buys on FITE TV were also higher than they have ever been due to the closure of ITV Box Office, which forced fans in the UK to purchase it online if they wanted to watch the show legally.

Fans will have to wait to find out the total pay-per-view buy rate, as US cable numbers are not currently available.

For the avoidance of doubt, Meltzer penned: "We don't have cable numbers yet, but for iPPV through B/R Live, it was up more than 10 percent from Full Gear and at the same level as Double or Nothing (in the range of 37,000 which is an excellent number for iPPV buys). FITE number were the highest for any AEW show to date (which would mean among the highest for that platform of any event in history), but they were going to be the highest of the AEW shows."
