One of the more unique matches in All Elite Wrestling history took place on Wednesday's edition of Dynamite as Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy went one-on-one in a Texas Chain Saw Massacre Deathmatch, with the match being put together to promote the upcoming Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game that will be released on Friday, August 18.
The match, which featured the AEW debut of Leatherface, has been widely panned but it did bring in over $100,000 for the promotion, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.
"Because it was a big number. It was over $100,000 sponsorship. And I mean for that kind of thing, it was like, again, the network wants the sponsorship," Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Tony Khan announced on Dynamite that the proceeds from the sponsorship would be donated to the Maui Food Bank due to the devastating wildfires in Hawaii.
Jeff Jarrett would ultimately win the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match, picking up the win following interference from Satnam Singh. With his victory, Jarrett captured the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Championship.
