Rising COVID-19 cases in the United States is causing concern within All Elite Wrestling, according to a new report.

COVID-19 cases have been rapidly rising in some parts of the United States in recent weeks, with the vast majority of new infections being caused by the new delta variant. Such is the concern about the new variant that the CDC has recommended all Americans wear masks in indoor public spaces again, after initially removing the advice in May.

While no events have been affected as of yet, AEW are "extremely concerned" about the rapid rise in COVID cases and the potential disruption it could cause to the company's shows in Chicago, New York City, St. Louis and beyond, according to Cassidy Haynes of BodySlam.net. The biggest concern at the moment is said to be the status of the September shows in Chicago and New York City.

As a result of the rising cases, internal discussions have "ramped up" over the past week about future plans should restrictions be imposed across the United States. The company has also looked at a potential long-term return to Daily's Place should a shutdown be enforced.

Backstage has also been described as an "all hands on deck" situation and a source noted Tony Khan "has to make a decision about what is right for the talent, staff, and [especially] the fans."
