Report: AEW Concerned About Chicago Crowd Reaction If CM Punk Doesn't Wrestle At All Out
Could the crowd turn on AEW All Out if CM Punk isn't there?
Aug 30, 2023
All Elite Wrestling may receive a hostile reception at Sunday's All Out pay-per-view.
The latest edition of All Out will once again emanate from Chicago, Illinois with the pay-per-view set to be held at the United Center. It appears CM Punk won't be working the event, though, as he has reportedly been suspended by AEW following a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at All In on August 27. CM Punk also angrily confronted AEW CEO Tony Khan before the altercation with Perry which certainly won't have improved relations within the promotion.
Jack Perry was also suspended over the confrontation and he and Punk will remain at home while AEW carries out an investigation into the altercation which is expected to continue beyond All Out.
As expected, Punk was scheduled to wrestle in his hometown and there is "growing concern" within AEW about the crowd reaction at All Out if CM Punk doesn't perform at the event, according to Wade Keller of PWTorch, especially as many fans who purchased tickets will have assumed Punk would be wrestling on Sunday.
An indicator on Sunday's reception will be tonight's edition of Dynamte which will air from the NOW Arena in Chicago.
Matches already announced for All Out include Kenny Omega vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Miro vs. Powerhouse Hobbs, and Jon Moxley vs. Orange Cassidy or Penta El Zero Miedo for the AEW International Championship.
