Pro Wrestling Guerrilla have announced the return of The Battle of Los Angeles, with the two night tournament scheduled for January 29 and 30 2022.

Traditionally seen as PWG’s marquee event of the year, 2022’s BOLA will be the first since 2019, where Bandido won the finals, defeating Jonathan Gresham and David Starr in a three-way dance.

PWG made the announcement in typically succinct fashion, simply Tweeting:

“The 2022 Battle of Los Angeles takes place on January 29th and 30th!”

No further details have been announced, but it is to be assumed that PWG will run BOLA in LA’s Globe Theater, PWG’s home-base since leaving Reseda’s American Legion Hall in 2018. Similarly no names have been announced for the event, but again it’d be safe to assume members of the AEW roster, as well as those fresh from ROH, will be amongst the field.

This will be the sixteenth edition of BOLA, with every tournament from 2014 onwards hosting an elimination three-way dance for the finals. Previous winners of the tournament include Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, Zack Sabre Jr., Ricochet, and Sami Zayn’s good friend El Generico amongst others.
