Since Orange Cassidy appeared in the Casino Battle Royale at Double Or Nothing 2019 and hit Tommy Dreamer with some vicious kicks to the shin, The King Of Sloth Style has been one of the most popular wrestlers in the promotion and has been tipped to be a future main event star. Cassidy is one of the top merchandise sellers in the young promotion, he regularly appears in the most-watched segments on AEW: Dynamite, and he often garnered the loudest crowd reactions before the coronavirus pandemic

Despite his success, a portion of wrestling fans despise The Freshly Squeezed One and everything he means for professional wrestling, with a prominent critic of Cassidy's being Jim Cornette.

Orange recently sat down for an interview with Brett Thompson at ESPN and discussed his time on the indies and his run in AEW so far. During the interview, Cassidy revealed he thinks The Young Bucks wanted AEW to sign him because his persona is "a giant middle finger to professional wrestling."

"The Young Bucks were the people that were like, 'We need to get Orange here,'" Best Friends' best friend said. "Because my character is a giant middle finger to professional wrestling, so they were like, 'Of course, let's get him in.'"
