NXT Star Forced To Undergo Surgery
They'll miss several weeks of action...
Sep 20, 2019
With so much momentum behind NXT this week it's a shame to hear that one of their own has to go under the knife.
NXT's Joaquin Wilde (previously known as DJZ) is about to undergo surgery, according to
Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Wilde suffered an injury to his eye socket in July, believed to have been an accident during training. Doctors hoped that the socket would heal on its own, but two months down the line the decision has been made to operate.
Wilde is only scheduled to miss a few weeks of in-ring action, which must come as a relief for the NXT star who is still very much bedding is as part of WWE.
Fans may be familiar with Wilde after his run in TNA (now IMPACT Wrestling) where he became a two-time X-Division Champion. He was part of NXT's Breakout Tournament, losing to Angel Garza in the opening round. Now part of the NXT Road Trip - the third brand's live event tour - he'll be chomping at the bit to return to action in a few week's time.
