The National Wrestling Alliance and All Elite Wrestling have started working together in recent weeks and Thunder Rosa faced Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women's World Championship at All Out on September 5.

The NWA World Women's Champion was ultimately unsuccessful against Shida but fans were impressed by Rosa's performance and wondered if she would return to an AEW ring in the future.

AEW President Tony Khan was also keen to keep the NWA star, and following the pay-per-view, he said he would "love" to bring Rosa back for more dates.

Khan and Billy Corgan were seemingly able to work out a deal as Thunder Rosa will defend the NWA World Women's Title against Ivelisse on next week's edition of Dynamite.

This will only be the third time Thunder Rosa has defended the title since she defeated Allysin Kay at Hard Times back in January. The NWA ultimately went on hiatus because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic but they are set to run shows once again from September 15 through their partnership with the United Wrestling Network.
