New Japan Pro-Wrestling entered the final stages of the New Japan Cup 2020 as the quarter-finals were held earlier today. Some interesting matchups were on the card as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi clashed with the Stone Pitbull Tomohiro Ishii. Kazuchika Okada also went one on one with Taiji Ishimori.

Takahashi ultimately emerged victorious from the hard-hitting affair with Ishii after he connected with the Time Bomb II, and Okada fought off interference from Gedo and forced Ishimori to tap out to the Camel Clutch. The main event between Taichi and SANADA also suffered from outside interference as Yoshinobu Kanemaru repeatedly tried to help his Suzuki-gun ally. Kanemaru's distractions did little to help Taichi, however, as SANADA rolled him up for the 1-2-3 after 22 minutes. EVIL also defeated YOSHI-HASHI to advance to the semi-finals.

Check out the results below: • Hiromu Takahashi def. Tomohiro Ishii • EVIL def. YOSHI-HASHI • Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi and BUSHI def. Hirooki Goto, SHO and Yuya Uemura • Kazuchika Okada def. Taiji Ishimori • SANADA def. Taichi

The semi-finals will be broadcast tomorrow at 11 am on NJPW World. Check out the card below: • Hiromu Takahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada • EVIL vs. SANADA
