The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on New Japan Pro-Wrestling's 2020 schedule. The promotion hasn't run a show since February 26 and cancelled the New Japan Cup, Best Of The Super Juniors 27, and Wrestle Dynasty at Madison Square Garden.

The coronavirus situation in Japan has improved in recent weeks and the state of emergency in the country was lifted back on May 31. The government also announced sports could return from June 19 and spectators can attend shows from July 10.

With this in mind, New Japan announced earlier today they will be returning on June 15 with the Together Project Special. The card for the event will be revealed at bell time and the show will be broadcast on NJPW World at 11 am BST.

NJPW Chairman Naoki Sugabayashi also revealed the event will be followed by the New Japan Cup which will run from June 16 to July 11. The tournament is open to both junior heavyweights and heavyweights and the winner will face IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental Champion Tetsuya Naito at Dominion on July 12.

Fans can also attend New Japan events from July 11 at Osaka Jo Hall, which will open at 33 percent capacity.
