NJPW Announces Summer Struggle 2021 Tour

New Japan Pro-Wrestling announced today they will hold a series of Summer Struggle shows in mid-July and early August.

The tour will open with Summer Struggle in Sapporo on July 10 and July 11 at the Makomanai Sekisui Heim Ice Arena. It will be the first time NJPW has held a show at the arena in 10 years.

The next major shows on the tour will then take place on July 22 and July 23 with Summer Struggle in Osaka. Those events will be followed by Summer Struggle in Nagoya on July 24 before the tour finishes up with four shows at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan from July 27 to August 1.

NJPW held their first Summer Struggle shows last year and the tour finished up with a big show at Jingu Stadium on August 29.

New Japan has yet to make an official announcement about G1 Climax 31, but the Summer Struggle shows mean the annual tournament will likely be pushed back until later in the year. The G1 is traditionally held in the Summer, but last year's shows were moved to the autumn because of the Tokyo Summer Olympics. The games were ultimately pushed back to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, though, but they are scheduled to run from July 23 to August 8.
