Matt Hardy Released From Hospital, Reportedly Did Not Suffer Concussion

AEW President Tony Khan provided a positive update on the condition of Matt Hardy on Sunday afternoon, stating that the wrestler did not sustain a concussion at Saturday night's All Out pay-per-view.

Khan wrote, "An update on Matt Hardy: it’s great news! Matt’s ok, we sent him to the hospital as a precaution & he’s passed the MRI + CT scans, he doesn’t have a concussion, and he’s being driven home now."

Khan also added that Hardy would be at Dynamite on Wednesday night, to address the fans and, presumably, the incident.

Hardy sustained the injury after he and Sammy Guevara took a high-risk bump off of an elevated scissor lift backstage. Hardy's head and shoulders over-shot the tables below, causing his head to hit the concrete.

The match between the two was briefly stopped, as AEW physician Michael Sampson came rushing over to assist with Hardy, who didn't look to have his bearings. Minutes later, the match suddenly continued, but went right to the finish, with Hardy winning via Guevara being unable to answer the ten count following another fall.

Dr. Sampson cleared Hardy to continue, a decision that drew much criticism, given Hardy's clearly-addled state. Hardy's wife Reby Sky openly criticized all involved (including her husband) on social media.
