Mark Briscoe To "Carry On" For Jay Briscoe

With the tragic passing of Jay Briscoe on January 17 came an outpouring of grief from the wrestling world, as well as messages of love and support for Briscoe - real name Jamin Pugh - his family, and his brother and tag team partner Mark Briscoe.

Mark recently wrestled on the January 25 edition of AEW Dynamite, defeating Jay Lethal in the night’s main event in tribute to Jay Briscoe, and in a video posted by Ring of Honor colour commentator Caprice Coleman on Twitter, Mark Briscoe announced his intentions to ‘carry on’ for his brother:

“Y’all already know family is beyond important to me and my life. 23 years me and my brother been riding the roads, making towns, hitting different countries, in a way that I’ve been wanting to do this for this long if I ain’t have my boy with me the whole time. But now it’s time to carry on for him, you know what I’m saying? Family is beyond… this life is temporary. Let’s focus on the eternal not the temporal. My brother ain’t here with me - I brought my beautiful wife with me - but my brother ain’t here with me as he normally has been, normally would be, but he’s still with me right here [taps heart]. He ain’t gone, if I thought he was gone I wouldn’t be no good. I know he ain’t gone, I know he just moved to the next higher level of existence, and that’s what keeps me pushing through,” said Mark Briscoe.

The Briscoes signed deals with ROH in 2022. In the wake of Jay Briscoe’s passing, Tony Khan has vowed to support the Pugh family financially.
