The main event match for the next NXT TakeOver event has been announced by General Manager William Regal. NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa will defend his title against Aleister Black - who will also be taking on Johnny Gargano inside a steel cage in two weeks on NXT TV.

Here's what Regal tweeted: .

@WWEAleister

will face

@ProjectCiampa

at

#NXTTakeOver

Phoenix for the

#NXTChampionship

! And to square things away,

@JohnnyGargano

and

@WWEAleister

will get their matters settled in a

#SteelCage

Match in two weeks!

The match was made after Ciampa cut a promo goading fans for not believing the things he says, while claiming that he will be 'Sports Entertainer of the Year' once again in 2019. Black then cut the champ off, announcing that he would be invoking his rematch clause in Phoenix. Then, Johnny Gargano arrived and told Aleister they're not finishing yet, with Ciampa managing to wrangle an agreement for the aforementioned cage match out of the pair.

This will be the first time Ciampa and Black have met in a televised singles match for the championship since that fateful night in the summer when Psycho Killer defeated The Dutch Destroyer. If you're wondering, the pair have had four singles matches with the gold on the line since then, three on house shows, and one dark match at an NXT TV taping.

Ciampa's capturing of the NXT Championship was marred in controversy thanks to the interference of Johnny Gargano. Johnny Wrestling accidentally hit Black upside the head with the title, allowing then-foe Ciampa to steal a victory. The switch was made to afford Aleister some time off to deal with an injury, but now he's back (in Black, tehe) and looking to absolve everybody of their sins.
