LAX Reportedly Finished With Impact Wrestling Following Slammiversary
Their last night with the company, per a report...
Jul 9, 2019
It came out more than one week ago that both WWE and All Elite Wrestling
had interest in signing Ortiz and Santana, the Latin American eXchange. The four-time Impact Wrestling World Tag Team champions' contracts were said to be expiring later this summer.
According to Dave Meltzer
, the two finished up with Impact Wrestling after Slammiversary on Sunday night. Santana and Ortiz had dropped the belts to Ethan Page and Josh Alexander at Friday night's "Bash at the Brewery" in San Antonio, and then failed to regain the belts in a triple threat match at the pay-per-view on Sunday.
Meltzer's report updates the story from last week, now saying that both WWE and AEW have made offers to the duo.
Santana sustained an apparent knee injury during the match on Sunday, which Meltzer confirms was planned out as part of the match.
From the time Santana and Ortiz began the first of their four Tag Team title reigns on March 4, 2017, the two have reigned atop Impact Wrestling's tag team division for 80 percent of the time ever since.
