KUSHIDA

This week's 205 Live saw the first appearance on the brand of KUSHIDA.

The former New Japan Pro Wrestling star usually appears on NXT - last wrestling Roderick Strong on a house show last weekend - but showed up as part of WWE's cruiserweight division last night.

KUSHIDA teamed with Jack Gallagher to take on Brian Kendrick and Akira Tozawa, and was able to pick up the victory for his team, submitting Kendrick with the Hoverboard Lock.

Although some are theorising that KUSHIDA could become a regular member of the 205 Live roster, the likelihood of this happening is unclear at the moment.

Those familiar with KUSHIDA's pre-WWE career will know that he's certainly no stranger to cruiserweight action. He was the main star (or 'ace') of New Japan's junior division for several years, holding the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship six times, and winning two Best of the Super Juniors tournaments.

This week's 205 Live featured one other match, which saw Lince Dorado team with Gran Metallik and Humberto Carrillo to defeat Cruiserweight Champion Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, and Ariya Daivari in six-man tag team action.
