During the closing days of the G1 Climax 30 tournament, Will Ospreay turned on Kazuchika Okada and created his own faction The Empire.

Ospreay and Great-O-Khan have dominated The Rainmaker during the Road To Power Struggle Shows, but the odds were evened at Power Struggle when Okada went one on one with The Empire's enforcer.

Great-O-Khan was on top for much of the match and almost picked up the win on numerous occasions with the Iron Claw, but Okada countered every time and eventually caught The Dominator with a spinning Rainmaker. The five-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion then followed up with the Money Clip, forcing Great-O-Khan to pass out.

Will Ospreay, dressed as a British gangster, entered the ring after the match. The Ariel Assassin told Okada he used him to increase his own popularity. The Rainmaker had outlived his usefulness, though, as Ospreay could never be the best wrestler in the world while stood alongside the Leader of Chaos. He then said he wanted to end Okada's career, and what better place to do it than at the Tokyo Dome.

Okada wasted no time in making his decision and accepted Ospreay's challenge for a match at Wrestle Kingdom 15.
