After two world title matches inside the Tokyo Dome, Kazuchika Okada ended day two of Wrestle Kingdom 16 as IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

Okada defeated Shingo Takagi for the gold on January 4 before The Rainmaker faced Will Ospreay to determine who the 'real' IWGP World Heavyweight Champion was on January 5.

Ospreay hit Okada with everything he could including a Moonsault from a steel beam, the Chelsea Grin, both an OsCutter and a Super OsCutter, a Tombstone Piledriver, a Rainmaker and even a Hidden Blade, but the champion kicked out time after time.

Ospreay also tried to hit Stormbreaker to no avail and The Commonwealth Kingpin went for a second Hidden Blade in the final moments but Okada countered into a Sit-Out Tombstone Piledriver before he connected with his second Rainmaker of the match to retain the title.

Then, following the match, Okada recognised Ospreay was 'the real deal' before his next challenger revealed themselves.

While Okada cut the traditional post-main event promo, Tetsuya Naito, who defeated Jeff Cobb earlier in the night, headed to the ring and challenged The Rainmaker to a future title match. Okada, of course, accepted and the former rivals will face off later this year.
