An IMPACT Wrestling star is set to debut in New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

New Japan announced today that IMPACT X-Division Champion Josh Alexander will debut on NJPW Strong during Friday's Ignition episode. The Walking Weapon is scheduled to go one on one with Alex Coughlin.

The match came about after Coughlin was defeated by Bullet Club's Hikuleo on last week's show. Following the match, Coughlin insisted he take on all comers going forward and the bout with Alexander will be the first in Coughlin's Open Challenge series.

Also set for Friday's Ignition episode is Fred Rosser and Adrian Quest vs. Bateman and Barrett Brown. Satoshi Kojima will square off against JR Kratos in the main event.

Alexander is the latest wrestler to cross over since New Japan and IMPACT Wrestling formed their working relationship. The likes of FinJuice, Satoshi Kojima and El Phantasmo have all popped up on IMPACT in recent months and ELP even unsuccessfully challenged The Walking Weapon for the X-Division Title in May.
