Jim Ross has revealed that he doesn’t have long left of his current All Elite Wrestling deal, with the veteran announcer’s contract believed to be up later in 2023.

J.R. has been with AEW since 2019, calling the action across Dynamite, Rampage, PPV, and most recently Collision, with the legendary commentator currently resting up after a fall ahead of Collision episode one. Taking to the Grilling J.R. podcast, Ross detailed his current deal with AEW:

"I will be back. I will continue working. My contract with AEW is still in place. I don’t have a lot of time left on it, but I’ve got enough. I’m not concerned about that. Either I’m retained, or I’m not. I’m just gonna take it a day at a time and see how it works out. But I enjoy working for AEW. It’s fun to be part of a startup. I said that when I was hired. It’s great to see all these young guys start to come into their own, and I’d love to be there for the rest of the journey to help guide them along the way, almost in a talent relations type situation. I enjoy helping these kids," Ross said.

Originally part of the main Dynamite announce team with Excalibur and Tony Schiavone, Ross primarily serves as an announcer for featured matches, and upon his return is expected to form part of Collision’s announce team alongside the core duo of Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness.
