Jim Ross: AEW Rampage Is A 'High Priority Right Now'
Rampage is a high priority for AEW
Oct 7, 2022
While the show initially got off to a hot start with an IMPACT World Title change and CM Punk's return to professional wrestling, AEW Rampage has seen its ratings dwindle over the last year and the show is no longer viewed as must-see by many All Elite Wrestling fans.
The series could be set to feature more high-profile matches, though, as Jim Ross revealed on his Grilling JR podcast that Rampage is a "high priority right now" within AEW.
"Rampage is a high priority right now within the confines of AEW. We want to make this Friday night show good and build a loyal audience and I think we're going to do that. I really do. I enjoy the opportunity. I did the show with Excalibur and Schiavone and I love it. Just loved it. We had so much fun. When you cut your roster of announcers down to three, everything becomes more manageable. You're not driving in so much traffic. That was the goal there," JR said.
The latest edition of AEW Rampage will air tonight at 10 pm ET. Matches announced for the show include Death Triangle vs. Dark Order for the AEW World Trios Titles, Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta vs. Rush and Private Party, and Tay Melo and Anna Jay vs. Madison Rayne and Skye Blue.
