AEW pay-per-views have become synonymous with major debuts, and Full Gear 2021 was no different, as former ROH World Champion Jay Lethal arrived, and declared himself ‘All Elite’.

Lethal joined AEW in the wake of his, and all other ROH talents having their contracts cancelled due to ROH’s impending hiatus, and despite stepping through ‘the forbidden door’ to join AEW, it appears that he won’t be stepping back.

When asked during the post-Full Gear media scrum if he will be appearing at ROH Final Battle in December, Lethal was succinct with his answer, saying “I will not be. My new home is AEW.”

News of Lethal not appearing at what could potentially be Ring of Honor’s final PPV is somewhat surprising, considering Lethal had been with the promotion for the majority of the past 20 years, having reigned as ROH World Champion on two separate occasions, with Lethal standing as the longest reigning world champion in ROH history.

For now it seems that Lethal is firmly focused on the future, with the former ‘Black Machismo’ scheduled to face Sammy Guevara for the AEW TNT Championship on Wednesday’s edition of Dynamite.
