ITV2 Commissions Pro Wrestling Comedy 'Deep Heat'

ITV are adding to their slate of professional wrestling programming with 'Deep Heat', a new six-episode comedy series based in North West England.
The show will centre on Holly, a "frustrated wannabe wrestler facing the challenge of a lifetime" after her brother Nick Nitro poaches promotion Boss Pro's top talent. This leaves Holly's mother Pam devastated, but Holly will look to keep the promotion alive with the "remaining gang of misfits."
The comedy has been written by Max & Ivan with Andrew Ellard. Directing the show is Matt Lipsey and Deep Heat is produced by SLAM Films.
Paul Mortimer, ITV's Content Director for On-Demand and Acquisitions said: "Deep Heat is a brilliant new addition to ITV2 and ITV Hub as we continue to bolster our scripted comedy content for younger viewers. The writers have created these brilliant and hilarious characters set in a fictional pro wrestling company."
ITV famously aired World of Sport for 20 years until 1985, and they commissioned a reboot of the popular show in 2016 and then 2018. All Elite Wrestling shows Dynamite and Rampage also air on ITV 4 and ITV 1.
