IMPACT Under Siege 2023 is officially in the books. Whilst it was a show that was quiet on the title changing front, with not a single belt changing hands, it was still a notable event with some big talking points coming out of it.
Perhaps the most important detail to come out of Under Siege is the news that Jordynne Grace is done with the company for now following the expiration of her contract. At the event, she was unsuccessful in her attempts to dethrone Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Knockouts Championship. Per the stipulation, Grace is unable to challenge for the gold against whilst Purrazzo is the champion.
Elsewhere, the main event angle was a chaotic one. Steve Maclin overcame PCO in what was a brutal affair to retain the IMPACT World Championship. During the bout, Maclin would staple PCO’s mouth shut (only for PCO to remove them mid-match). Other weapons such as concrete blocks and a sledgehammer were used too, before Maclin hit the KIA to score the win.
Following the match, Scott D’Amore lived up to his promise of strapping the belt around Maclin’s waist, only to be attacked by a returning Bully Ray. The pair put D’Amore through a flaming table even with the attempted help of the Motor City Machine Guns, Matthew Rehwoldt and PCO.
Other talking points from the event included Alex Shelley becoming the number one contender for the IMPACT World Championship and Jake Crist’s return to IMPACT for the first time in two years to team up with Sami Callihan & Rich Swann.
