IMPACT’s Eddie Edwards Irked At Missing Out On Satoshi Kojima Match
Kojima was on loan from NJPW earlier this Summer

After over a decade of bad blood, NJPW accepted IMPACT Wrestling’s proverbial olive branch, and the two have enjoyed a healthy working relationship for most of 2021. The likes of FinJuice and El P have made their way to the IMPACT Zone, but the most surprising NJPW star to make the jump was Satoshi Kojima.
The legendary former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and Triple Crown holder, Kojima wrestled a handful of matches for IMPACT in April/May (airing in June), including a run with Eddie Edwards. But before the two could face off in a respectful exhibition bout, Edwards’ appendix burst, and he had to spend some time on the shelf, written off of TV by W. Morrissey before the match was scheduled to take place.
“I’m still pretty hot over it,” Edwards said to Sports Illustrated “I really enjoy working with him [Kojima]. We’d worked together years ago in NOAH, and I was so happy we got to tag together in Impact, but it definitely irks me that we weren’t able to have that singles match. I really appreciate him reaching out and checking up to see how I was doing while I was out.”
Edwards is now eyeing up a return to the ring, but instead of Kojima, the former IMPACT World Champion will have his sights set on W. Morrissey.
