Heath: Why I Signed With IMPACT Wrestling
Heath put pen to paper on a two-year deal
Oct 18, 2021
After just under a year on the shelf dealing with several injuries, Heath returned to IMPACT Wrestling on the September 30 show of the same name.
Heath has since officially signed his IMPACT Wrestling contract and Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore granted The One Man Band a favour in the process, booking Heath and Rhino vs. Violent By Design for Bound For Glory. If Rhino will be by Heath's side at the October 23 pay-per-view remains to be seen.
Speaking to That 90's Wrestling Podcast ahead of the pay-per-view, Heath revealed why he opted to join IMPACT last year.
"It's literally like having your cake and eating it too," Heath said about the creative freedom in IMPACT. "They trust your judgment. I told them straight up, 'I haven't worked the indies in I don't know how long, but I want to do it.' It's fun and exciting and I can go and have fun doing it. Talk to the people, sell some 8x10s, whatever. I never got to do it.
"I want to go to Comic-Con, I want to go to conventions, I want to go on a Netflix show. I want to be able to have opportunities. They told me that I could do it. They told me, 'Just email us' and if it doesn't end up crossing with their schedule, I can go for it. I was like, 'What?' 'Yeah, do it.' My wife was on board for it anyway. We cut a good deal, I signed for two years, and now they got me."
If Heath signed his two-year deal in 2020 or 2021 is currently unknown.
