AEW Grand Slam 2022 has already proven to be a financial success, with the Dynamite and Rampage taping being the first AEW TV event to bring in over $1million in ticket sales.

Taking to Twitter, AEW President Tony Khan celebrated the gate, Tweeting:

“Thanks to fans’ support, tonight’s AEW Grand Slam in New York City is the first @AEWonTV event EVER to surpass $1 million in live ticket sales! Thank you to everyone here tonight + thank you to everyone watching Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite TONIGHT on @TBSNetwork! See you soon!”

Grand Slam follows in the footsteps of Double or Nothing 2022 Forbidden Door, and All Out 2022, with all three pay per view shows taking over $1million at the gate.

Grand Slam featured several title matches, and saw Jon Moxley lift the AEW World Championship for a record third time on Dynamite, whilst The Acclaimed won the AEW World Tag Team Championships after defeating Swerve In Our Glory.

AEW Rampage Grand Slam is set to air on Friday September 23. Click here for full spoiler results.
