GCW's Brett Lauderdale Advised Not To Comment On Fake COVID-19 Test Accusations

Game Changer Wrestling Founder and Owner Brett Lauderdale has declined to comment on allegations that he acquired fake COVID-19 tests for talent working GCW shows.

Lauderdale issued the following statement to Fightful: "I've referred this matter to my lawyer and as much as I'd like to comment, I've been advised not to."

California-based promoter Mikey Gordon (AKA 'Dirty' Ron McDonald) claimed in a Facebook group that his 'people' produced over 50 fake COVID-19 tests for Lauderdale between October 2020 and January 2021 so talent could work Game Changer Wrestling events.

Gordon also alleged that GCW talent only make between $50 and $100 per show. Another claim was that he paid for talent and their accommodation for multiple GCW events in California between 2019 and 2021.

Several GCW regulars, including Tony Deppen and Joey Janela, have disputed Gordon's allegations.

Deppen tweeted: "Pay for our own hotels, $50 bucks, huh? I've never once paid for my hotel, even the first time Gcw went to la years ago. And even when we were drawing 50 people I was never paid that little."

He then added: "Before every show we had a group chat where we'd talk about her recautions and the deadlines for our covid tests. I also had to sit out two shows cause my tests didn't come back in time - and that was at the request of Brett."
