FTR Win ROH World Tag Team Championships At Supercard Of Honor 2022
FTR defeated The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championships in a long-awaited bout
Apr 2, 2022
FTR have defeated the legendary Briscoes Brothers to win the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships for the first time, with the ‘Top Guys’ defeating ‘Dem Boys’ for the straps at Supercard of Honor 2022.
The match between FTR and The Briscoes was a long time coming, with the two teams engaging in a lengthy war of words on Twitter in late 2021, before FTR showed up at Final Battle 2021 to face-off with the newly crowned 11-time ROH World Tag Team Champions.
The crowd were at fever pitch before the bell rung, with this certified dream match delivering on all fronts. From crisp tag team wrestling to all-out brawling, this was a hard hitting match that left three of the competitors bleeding. But there could be only one winner, and it was FTR’s time to shine, landing the ROH World Tag Team Titles after a Big Rig on Mark Briscoe.
This win sees FTR reign as the ROH and AAA World Tag Team Champions, having held the latter since defeating The Lucha Brothers in October 2021.
Cary Silkin was on hand to present the new champions with the titles, as FTR laid the titles at Jay and Mark’s feet and bowed to them in a mark of respect.
As The Briscoes soaked up the adulation of the crowd, The Young Bucks made their return to ROH, hitting a Superkick Party and BTE Trigger on Dem Boys, before FTR chased the Jacksons out of town. FTR threw down a challenge to The Bucks right there and then, but The Jacksons said they'd see them Wednesday on AEW: Dynamite.
