Former WWE star Mascara Dorada (AKA Gran Metalik) made his AEW debut last night.

Dorada wrestled on the Dark: Elevation taping, prior to last night's Dynamite. The luchador beat Serpentico (accompanied by Luther) in the penultimate match of the taping.

Dorada signed with WWE in 2016 and was re-christened Gran Metalik. He primarily competed in the cruiserweight division, often alongside his Lucha House Party teammates Lince Dorado and Kalisto. The group was broken up in the 2020 Draft when Kalisto was transferred to SmackDown. Kalisto was released from his contract on April 15, 2021.

Dorada (as well as Lince Dorado) requested their release due to creative dissatisfaction and a lack of opportunities in September of 2021. They were ultimately granted their release on November 4.

Since then, Dorada has wrestled for GCW, NJPW STRONG and recently made his debut for IMPACT Wrestling. It is currently unknown whether the masked man has signed some sort of deal with AEW, is working on a per-appearance basis, or if this was a one-shot deal.
