Fans had been hoping the Grizzled Young Veterans would find their way to All Elite Wrestling ever since Zack Gibson and James Drake departed WWE and it finally happened on the April 27 episode of Collision as GYV faced off with The Acclaimed. Drake and Gibson's performance in the match was widely praised and GYV seemed happy with their AEW debuts, exclusively telling Cultaholic Wrestling's Tom Campbell that "everything is coming up Milhouse" for them.

After being asked about the fan reaction and if more AEW appearances could be on the horizon, James Drake stated:

"One of the things is us deciding to leave WWE. It's not us leaving WWE and then going like, 'Well, we'll see what happens'. It's just actually pushing forward and going, right we want to be everywhere. We made it work with TNA. We did AEW. It's pretty much we want to make sure when you think of us you don't think of us as a former so-and-so. You think of us as our own entity, our own brand, and look at the decorated career that we'll have.

"We had a great time there, great conversations with Tony [Khan]. The one thing I love about that place is it celebrates wrestling. If you can go, you will get your roses. That's literally something me and Zack have really prided ourselves on for a very long time... Shows like a TNA or like an AEW, people tune in to watch your craft and then they decide do we like them? Do we not like them? And it's purely based on your craft. That's something that is very refreshing, to say the least."

Zack Gibson added:

"When we came out we said we wanted to be everywhere, we wanted to work with all of the best talents that are out there. You can't go on record of saying that and then not end up at least trying to do work with the AEW tag division because that division is stacked. There's rumours of other people coming in but regardless of looking at who potentially could be in, look at the active division right now. The Acclaimed, FTR, The Young Bucks, the list goes on and on and on and it's just top tier tag team wrestling who are given time to shine and actually show out and do proper tag team wrestling on TV with some real purpose. It's just such an exciting place to get a foot in the door. We were both buzzing to be there, The Acclaimed were great opponents for us. The crowd was hot on the night. The crowd was hot on the internet kind of reacting to everything. Everything is coming up Milhouse."

If Grizzled Young Veterans will make more appearances in All Elite Wrestling is unknown. The tag team will remain busy, though, as they are involved with the fledgling Burning Heart Pro Wrestling promotion. The company's debut show will emanate from the Liverpool Olympia on Friday, June 21 with GYV vs. Sanity already set for the event. Burning Heart will then head to Wolverhampton for an event on Saturday, June 22 before a show in Swansea on Sunday, June 23.

Tickets are already available for all three of Burning Heart Pro Wrestling's opening shows.
