Don West Announces His Cancer Is In Remission

After revealing a diagnosis of brain lymphoma back in June, longtime TNA broadcaster Don West has revealed that his cancer has gone into remission, after roughly two months of treatment.

West wrote on Twitter, "I want to give everyone an update. After 8 weeks of chemotherapy and 13 treatments of radiation my cancer is now in remission. Thank you for everyone’s prayers because they truly worked. I look forward to getting back on the radio doing what I love."

The diagnosis forced West to take a sabbatical from his self-titled sports radio show on NewsRadio 560 KPQ in Washington state.

Wrestling fans best know West from his time as color commentator with Total Nonstop Action (today Impact Wrestling) from 2002 through 2012, with a one night return at Slammiversary in 2017.

Primarily a babyface announcer during his time with the company, West was known for his boisterous, cheerfully over-the-top broadcasting style, and most often worked alongside Mike Tenay on television and pay-per-view broadcasts. In addition to those commentary duties, West also worked in TNA's merchandising department.
