moxley jericho revolution

The dust has settled at the end of All Elite Wrestling's fourth major pay-per-view, Revolution, where three title matches and a host of grudges played out inside Chicago's Wintrust Arena.

Buy In Show: The Dark Order def. SCU in 9:50

Christopher Daniels was teased as the Exalted One once more, with Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky finding it hard to trust him. Stu Grayson pinned Sky after Evil Uno leveled Sky during a pin attempt. Afterward, Chicago native Colt Cabana attempted to make the save on behalf of SCU. Then a figure covered in a dark shroud emerged from the entrance way, revealing himself to be Daniels, who then attacked the Dark Order following the ruse.

Jake Hager def. Dustin Rhodes in 14:44

Hager's first match of any kind in AEW was pretty much a straight-forward brawl, though Hager's wife played a small role from her spot front-row ringside. Rhodes worked over the arm as revenge for Hager previously breaking his, even going for a cross-armbreaker late. Hager struck Rhodes with a low blow when Aubrey Edwards' back was turned, and polished off the fading veteran with a head and arm choke.

Darby Allin def. Sammy Guevara in 4:55

If the match time seems paltry, that's because there was a crazy brawl before the match between the two, involving various suicide dives (including one where Allin almost wiped out when his feet hit the rope), and Guevara hitting a top rope 630 splash onto Allin through a table on the floor. The official match was only slightly-less frenetic, and ended with Allin winning via the Coffin Drop.

AEW World Tag Team: Kenny Omega and Adam Page def. The Young Bucks in 29:25

Would you have believed six months ago that Page would be the biggest babyface in the match? The Bucks were booed throughout as what was mostly an intricate and dramatic exhibition of moves and spots sometimes degenerated into a fight when the surly "Hangman" slugged it out with Matt Jackson. As expected, there were a ton of false finishes, and even Page hitting his own One Winged Angel when Omega's bad shoulder made it impossible for him to execute. Page ended up finishing off Matt with the Buckshot to retain. Afterward, Page still refused to commiserate with the group, and even teased hitting an unknowing Omega with the Buckshot before quietly leaving with him.

AEW Women's: Nyla Rose def. Kris Statlander in 12:45

Tough spot to be in after the previous marathon, but it held up pretty well on its on merits. Rose hit all of her usual moves, including the guillotine knee, as well as the Beast Bomb, but Statlander kicked out of the first one. Rose blocked a Statlander avalanche rana with a flying Beast Bomb for the finish.

MJF def. Cody Rhodes in 24:38

MJF stalled to start, but was soon resorting to the usual array of underhanded tricks, including removing Cody's boot and working over the injured toe (including biting it, in a pretty gnarly moment). MJF ended up getting busted open, and Arn Anderson even took a spill when Cody accidentally kicked him, while trying to save Brandi from Wardlow. Rhodes proceeded to wail on MJF with the weight belt, and landed two Cross Rhodes. Before he could land a third, MJF escaped his clutches and struck him with his diamond ring, scoring the cheap pin as a result.

Pac def. Orange Cassidy in 12:55

Cassidy's first singles match in AEW was a happening, thanks to a receptive crowd, and Pac being exactly the kind of irritable heel to play off of. Cassidy alternated between his slothy default mode and genuine babyface fire, with Pac getting more and more frustrated as he tried to put him away. The Lucha Bros ran interference to try and take out Best Friends, and Pac managed to finish Cassidy with the Brutalizer.

AEW World Heavyweight: Jon Moxley def. Chris Jericho in 22:18 to win the title

Jericho had a choir singing his theme to precede his entrance. Total hate-filled brawl in the early going, with Santana and Ortiz running interference every chance they got. Moxley bled around the eye patch, but managed to reverse his way out of Jericho's submission attempts, even getting his own version of the Walls. Aubrey ended up ejecting Santana, Ortiz, and an interfering Hager, but in the process, didn't see Guevara jump the rail and waffle Moxley with the belt, after which Jericho could only get two. Jericho raked Moxley's good eye, and tried to finish off the presumably blinded man, but Moxley ducked the Judas Effect. He then removed the patch to reveal perfectly good sight in the once-wounded eye, and finished off Jericho with two Paradigm Shifts to capture the title.
