From his debut in September 1997 until Starrcade 1998, Goldberg was undefeated in WCW and the promotion claimed he won 173 straight matches. The former NFL player won the United States Title and WCW World Heavyweight Championship along the way, defeating the likes of Raven, Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Diamond Dallas Page.
Fans reportedly could have witnessed the WWE Hall Of Famer go undefeated in 2019 and 2020 as Jim Cornette recently said on the Jim Cornette Experience that Tony Khan wanted to sign Goldberg and have him recreate the streak in All Elite Wrestling.
Cornette said: "Goldberg was huge on Tony Khan's f*****g want list. He wanted to have Goldberg come out and do the streak over again."
AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes quickly denied Cornette's claim, however.
After a fan said AEW wanted to bury their talent, The American Nightmare tweeted: "This isn't real. We had no contact ha."
While he won't be appearing in AEW, fans will be able to see Goldberg wrestle for at least another two years as the former Universal Champion recently revealed his WWE contract runs until 2022-23.
