CM Punk Reveals His Plans For August 20 Amid AEW 'The First Dance' Rumours

CM Punk has indicated he will be in Chicago when AEW Rampage: The First Dance, is presented from the city on Friday 20 August, amid speculation that he has signed with the promotion.

However, the former WWE Champion maintains his presence in his hometown is merely because of a special screening of new Starz series 'Heels', which he features in.

Rumours of Punk signing for All Elite Wrestling and ending a seven-year, self-imposed exile from professional wrestling, have circulated since last month. These reports indicate that the promotion intend to debut the 42-year-old in Chicago next week at the AEW Rampage television special, The First Dance.

Punk himself says he does intend to be in Chicago next Friday but will be at the AMC Movie Theatre, watching a screening of episode three of his 'Heels'.

When asked about his plans for Friday 20 August on Sunday Night's Main Event, Punk said: "I think I might be doing a screening, this isn't confirmed yet so I probably shouldn't blast this out everywhere, but we're talking about doing a screening of episode three of Heels at AMC in Chicago.

"That's one of the dates that has been proposed. I hope to see everybody there."
