CM Punk made his first public appearance since the All Out pay-per-view this week, resuming his colour commentary duties for MMA company Cage Fury Fighting Championships on Thursday.

Punk has been away from the public eye since he was involved in a backstage fight alongside Ace Steel with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks following All Out on September 4. The fight broke out after Punk took shots at the AEW EVPs, Hangman Page, and Colt Cabana during an incendiary post-All Out media scrum and The Elite went to the two-time AEW World Champion's locker room to confront him. Punk then threw the first punch and Ace Steel allegedly ended up biting Kenny Omega and throwing a chair that hit Nick Jackson.

Punk even made a joke about the All Out fight at CFFC, saying: "I'm happy to be here. I've missed you. I've missed everybody watching at home. I've missed the fights, and tonight I'm not gonna do that."

Following Brawl Out, AEW suspended The Elite, CM Punk, and Ace Steel while a third party conducted an investigation into what happened. That investigation has since come to an end and the return of The Elite has been teased in recent weeks. CM Punk, meanwhile, is reportedly in talks with AEW over a contract buyout. Ace Steel was fired.

Punk's future with AEW is in doubt as the promotion's top stars, including Chris Jericho, have said they aren't interested in working with The Second City Saviour if he does return. Punk is currently out of action after suffering a torn triceps in the main event of All Out.
