CM Punk's role as the sheriff of AEW Collision had more unintended consequences than initially believed.

CM Punk found himself established as the star of AEW Collision when the Saturday night show launched in June 2023 and his spot as the top star provided the two-time AEW World Champion with plenty of unofficial power that went unchecked. Such was Punk's power that he was able to ban certain talents from AEW Collision, including the likes of Ryan Nemeth, Matt Hardy, Isiah Kassidy, and Christopher Daniels who is the Manager of Talent Relations.

Another talent CM Punk effectively had banned from AEW Collision has since emerged, though. WrestlePurists has reported that QTV segments were quickly cut from AEW Collision because CM Punk didn't want QT Marshall to be a part of Collision and Punk believed QTV wasn't a "productive part of Powerhouse Hobbs' presentation."

Tony Khan took the fall for the scrapping of QTV segments from Collision which reportedly fractured Khan's relationship with Marshall as QT felt there was a lack of transparency over why his segments were nixed. Marshall firmly believed that CM Punk removed him from Collision and he didn't believe Tony Khan when he tried to take the blame.

QT Marshall has now tendered his resignation from AEW and he will depart the organisation at the end of the year. This was ultimately not behind his decision to resign but a fractured relationship with Khan certainly wouldn't have helped matters.

CM Punk was fired by AEW in September 2023 and he has since returned to WWE.
