Ring Of Honor weren't quite finished announcing inductees into the promotion's Hall Of Fame.

Already inducted into the ROH Hall Of Fame was CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe and The Briscoes and during a special Hall Of Fame episode of Ring Of Honor Wrestling, Cary Silkin was announced as the first winner of the Legacy Award, which honours those who have contributed to the promotion outside of the squared circle.

Silkin was presented with the award by ROH commentator Ian Riccaboni.

Within the announcement about Silkin's induction, the company noted, "quite simply, there would be no ROH today if not for him."

Initially, a partner in Ring Of Honor following the promotion's founding in 2002, Silkin bought the company and became its sole owner in 2004.

ROH continued to grow under Silkin's ownership with exciting stars like Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuinness, Kevin Steen, El Generico and Takeshi Morishima, among others, regularly performing for the promotion. ROH continued to lose money, though, and Silkin ultimately kept the promotion alive until Sinclair Broadcast Group bought the company in 2011.

Since then, Silkin has remained an ambassador and he has continued to present the ROH World Title to the new champion whenever it changes hands.

ROH was recently purchased by AEW President Tony Khan. Silkin's role under the new ownership remains unclear.
