Bryan Danielson Planning To Continue Working With AEW Following End Of Full-Time In-Ring Career

Bryan Danielson plans to continue working with AEW following the end of his in-ring career. Speaking in a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Danielson explained:

"Tony [Khan] and I have talked. I’ll always pick up the phone when he calls If I’m by my phone. For example, he called me last night; it was 9:30 Pacific time and I was already asleep. The first thing I’ll have to do when I’m done wrestling, the thing that is in my priority is to get my neck better, which probably involves some sort of neck surgery sooner rather than later. That will be my first order of business. Then I’ll help AEW where I can. I love AEW. I want to help as much as I can, and as much as they want my help I’m willing to participate."

It is unclear exactly when Danielson's wrestling career will come to an end, but he has openly mentioned it happening relatively soon. It could occur earlier than expected, given the recent stipulation added to his match with Swerve Strickland at All In on August 25.

Having won the 2024 men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, Danielson will face Strickland at Wembley Stadium for the latter's AEW World Championship. Should he lose, according to the stipulation, Bryan will never wrestle again.
