Bryan Danielson Match Set For AEW Dynamite New Year's Smash

Bryan Danielson will be in action on the special New Year's Smash edition of AEW Dynamite on Wednesday, December 28.

The American Dragon is set to go one-on-one with Ethan Page. The match came about after Page and Stokely Hathaway interrupted an in-ring promo from Danielson on December 21, during which he staked his claim to be the number one contender for MJF's AEW World Championship. Page argued that he deserved the match more, however, as he made it to the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament final before losing to Ricky Starks. Danielson then challenged Page to a match that will seemingly determine who will next face MJF for the AEW World Title.

Following The Elite's win on December 21, the Best of Seven Series for the AEW World Trios Titles will continue next week with a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Death Triangle remain in the lead, having won three matches to The Elite's two.

Already announced for the show is a TNT Championship match that will pit Samoa Joe against Wardlow.
