Bobby Fish jumping to AEW was one of the more surprising moves of the year, but for the veteran Fish it seemingly wasn’t a difficult decision to make.

After being released from WWE NXT in the Summer, Fish resumed his life on the Indies, appearing for MLW, before finding himself challenging for Sammy Guevara’s TNT Championship on AEW: Dynamite.

In conversation with Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Fish revealed that Tony Khan enticed him to join the promotion, by not going for the hard sell:

“Probably the fact that I didn’t feel like he was trying to sell it to me,” said Fish on his decision to join AEW  after meeting with Khan “He has such confidence and he’s such a fan of wrestling. You can feel that in the conversation. He’s excited. He’s motivated. He’s in a hurry. It was infectious. I had heard good things prior to the conversation, but it was all of those things I was expecting or suspecting seemed to be there, and it was quick, but it was genuine. I think that’s what probably sealed it for me.”
