Becky Lynch appeared on tonight's Raw to pick her opponent for WrestleMania 35.

Last night, Lynch pulled double duty at the Royal Rumble. She failed to take the SmackDown Women's Championship from Asuka, submitting clean in the opening bout of the main show, before reappearing later to win the women's Rumble match. As per the right traditionally granted to the Royal Rumble winner, Becky appeared on Raw to pick her title shot at WrestleMania.

In a move that delighted the live crowd (and immediately sent social media into a frenzy), Lynch picked the Raw Women's Championship - meaning that, in all likelihood, she's set to face current champion Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35.

However, there could still be a number of twists and turns before WWE's biggest annual event on April 7th. Various reports from different sources emerged over the past couple of months, most speculating that WWE would want to book a triple threat main event featuring Lynch, Rousey, and Charlotte Flair.

The ending of the women's Royal Rumble match has certainly left the door open for Charlotte to factor into things. She was last eliminated by Lynch, despite Becky not actually being an official entrant in the match. The eventual winner took Lana's place, who was (kayfabe) injured on the pre-show and beaten down by Nia during her Rumble entrance.

This would give Charlotte a claim on the title match, a scenario carrying echoes of the 1997 Royal Rumble, which Steve Austin won despite being eliminated behind the backs of the referees.
