The AEW World Championship will be defended in a Texas Death Match on the February 9 edition of Dynamite.

Champion "Hangman" Adam Page will put the gold on the line against Lance Archer.

The stipulation was set during Wednesday's edition of Dynamite when Archer and Jake Roberts revealed they would challenge Hangman in a match that gives The Murderhawk Monster the advantage. Hangman then accepted the challenge in a separate interview before he promised to climb out of hell to defeat Archer in two weeks.

Archer and Page have been feuding since the January 12 edition of Dynamite when The Murderhawk Monster returned from injury and laid out the AEW World Champion.

The February 9th show from Atlantic City will be Hangman's third defence of the AEW World Title. He has previously defended the gold against Bryan Danielson, first to a 60-minute time limit draw before a decisive win over The American Dragon on January 5.

Lance Archer has achieved success in Texas Death Matches before in AEW, having defeated Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Title back in July of 2021.
