AEW's Tony Khan Compares CM Punk To Home Alone's Kevin McCallister
Two true Chicago legends it seems…
Dec 10, 2021
When you think of CM Punk you’ll think of the Pipebomb, his excellent yet under-rated in-ring skills, and Chicago. And if you’re Tony Khan, you’ll also think of Home Alone’s Kevin McCallister.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Khan was discussing Christmas movies during an appearance on Rasslin’ with Brandon Walker, saying how McCallister was a hero in Chicago and ‘on the road’ in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, before comparing him to the ‘Second City Saint’:
“I think it’s like CM Punk where he’s really over in Chicago, but then he comes to New York and he’s also really over,” Khan said. “[Punk is] a Chicago guy and he’s super over in Chicago, and then he comes to New York — you know how we did All Out and he wrestled Darby and it was huge, and then we did Grand Slam in New York here at Arthur Ashe Stadium and he wrestled Powerhouse Hobbs. He’s the home team everywhere, CM Punk, just like McCallister.”
Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin is a noted wrestling fan, wonder if Khan can convince him to become ‘all elite’?
