AEW's Sammy Guevara Pokes Fun At Backstage Heat Rumours

Sammy Guevara poked fun at rumours of backstage heat on his latest vlog.

The video opened with Guevara making snow angels while wearing a t-shirt and sweatpants. After being asked what he was doing, The Spanish God replied, "Don't you read the internet? It said I have lots of heat so I thought I didn't need a jacket, but I'm still so cold." He then added, "So if I believe everything I read online, I'm a f*****g idiot?"

A report from Slam Wrestling last week noted Guevara had landed himself in hot water with AEW after he complained about an IMPACT Wrestling angle he was scheduled to be a part of.

The Spanish God was due to work a short storyline at last week's IMPACT tapings but he texted IMPACT officials about alternative ideas and "not wanting to do what was agreed to." The Nashville promotion subsequently cancelled Guevara's booking, reportedly after discussions with Tony Khan and Chris Jericho, and much of the storyline was used by Decay's Black Taurus instead.

Dave Meltzer later noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that, "From an AEW standpoint, there is not any heat on Sammy."

The AEW-IMPACT Wrestling partnership also appears to have been unaffected by the incident and IMPACT reportedly described the relationship as "golden."
