AEW's Eddie Kingston Provides Injury Update
How is Eddie faring after his orbital bone injury?
Feb 8, 2022
Speaking on the WrestleTalk Podcast, AEW star Eddie Kingston gave an update on his injury condition. The New Yorker has been out of action for a few weeks following an orbital bone injury, and explained:
“The injury’s great, I’m ready to go right now. If the doctors would clear me, I would go. I would just have to protect it the whole time. But I’m also used to that, I’ve had this injury before."
Kingston also contrasted his current situation with the way injuries were dealt with earlier in his career, on the independent scene,
"But out on the independents, you gotta go. I gotta make money, I gotta pay my rent. I had the match, things happen, it’s not ballet - plus we’re fighting. I like to keep it as realistic as possible. [When it happened] I said ‘oh it’s an orbital, without a doubt.' I’ve had this before."
Eddie's most recent match took place on January 8 against Joey Janela on AEW Dark. He was also embroiled in a feud with 2.0 and Daniel Garcia, and had recently recruited former allies Santana and Ortiz to help him - leading to friction in the Inner Circle between Proud and Powerful and Chris Jericho.
