The card for AEW Double or Nothing had to undergo some late-stage reconfiguration, after planned participants Britt Baker and Rey Fenix were both injured on AEW Dynamite three nights earlier.

Baker sustained a knee injury after Nyla Rose was thrown onto her during a tag team match. Fenix, meanwhile, landed awkwardly while diving onto a group of wrestlers in the aftermath of his bout with Orange Cassidy.

Company physician Dr. Michael Sampson revealed during Double or Nothing that Baker suffered an interior tibia fracture, a partial lateral collateral ligament tear, and a small degree of popliteus tendon tear.

In an update after the pay-per-view, President Tony Khan said of Baker, "Britt will be out, we think six to eight weeks. Less than two months, ballpark, is a good estimate."

Baker is expected to appear on this Wednesday's Dynamite to give her own personalized update on her injury.

As for Fenix, Khan said of the decision to pull him from the Casino Ladder match, "Fenix, it was close. He's limping. I don't think he would have been able to give 100% and also it wouldn't have been smart to put him out there in that situation. We made a judgment call. I think he'll be back soon."

Khan went on to commend Penelope Ford and Joey Janela for stepping in as replacements for both.
