There is frustration within AEW over Warner Bros. Discovery's recent issues

The working relationship between All Elite Wrestling and Warner Bros. Discovery hit a bump in the road in recent weeks.

There were a number of audio issues through the TBS feed of AEW Dynamite on September 27 and the issues returned for the October 4 show, with an overrun being added to Dynamite to re-air the vignette between Adam Cole and Roderick Strong as they heal from their respective ankle and neck(strong) injuries.

That wasn't the only issue, though, and AEW Dynamite's TV listing on October 4 had the episode listed with a 4 p.m. ET start time on TBS, which was obviously incorrect. Dynamite traditionally airs at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday nights. This is believed to have caused issues for Dynamite, with the show only averaging 800,000 total viewers for the second-lowest total viewership of 2023. WWE NXT even drew a higher total viewership this week.

A Warner Bros. Discovery source stated to Fightful Select the issues were "inexcusable" and they felt bad for what happened. There was also "a lot of frustration" within All Elite Wrestling as they often receive the blame for such technical issues. On this occasion, though, there was nothing they could do.

AEW programming will return to WBD networks tonight for AEW Rampage at 10 p.m. ET on TNT. AEW Collision will then air at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, also on TNT. Next week's Dynamite will be a special 'Title Tuesday' edition of the show on October 10 due to the show being preempted for coverage of the MLB playoffs on TBS.
